Searcys has shaped London’s dining scene for over 175 years, renowned for delivering exquisite experiences at some of the UK’s most historic venues. With a commitment to sustainability, every menu celebrates fresh, seasonal produce—beautifully paired with Champagne and fine wines—setting the stage for both exclusive private dining and standout corporate events.
Searcys was established in 1847 by John Searcy, a master confectioner to the Duke of Northumberland. With his flair for creativity and dedication to excellence, John brought his talents to London, founding what would become the capital’s first choice for extraordinary events. Over the years, Searcys has catered for everything from opulent balls and royal weddings to historic coronations.
Make it special. Make it Searcys.
Searcys, one of the UK’s oldest event caterers, began providing its catering services as a partner at The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn from January 2025.
In residence at unique historical venues across the UK including The Pump Room at the Roman Baths, The Gherkin, and St Pancras International, Searcys prides itself on offering a taste of indulgence, serving fresh, seasonal dishes that focus on sustainability, alongside extensive Champagne and wine lists, paired with world-class service and expert event catering.
The new menus are carefully curated by Searcys Executive Chef Richard Oxley, respectful of the purpose of each event and the anticipated audience from education events to Guest nights. They have been designed with Searcys belief and standard of ‘Food with Finesse’, a celebration of fresh British ingredients and reimagined classic dishes, delicious cakes, fresh sandwiches and salads, all with wellbeing as a key focus.
Searcys will showcase renowned suppliers and produce, like its signature Smoked Salmon from London Smoke and Cure, its own label English sparkling wine from Greyfriars Vineyard and Notes Coffee, roasted by a boutique company in East London.
At Searcys, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From sourcing seasonal British produce to reducing waste and championing ethical suppliers, we are committed to creating exceptional dining experiences that care for people, place, and planet.
Gray’s Inn Venue and Searcys look to continually develop the wellness of the members, staff and their clientele.
