It’s Time to Q & A??Episode 3

An Interview with Tess Norcliffe

Q – Tell us about yourself and your role in Askeve.

A – Working for eve as Business Development Executive, I help to sell all our unique venues. My role is to help clients find the right space for their event within our portfolio. I also help to proactively generate leads, through attending networking events, and helping to host showcase events at our venues.

Q – What are some popular amenities and features to look for in a Christmas party venue?

A – When selecting a Christmas party venue, it’s important to consider the amenities and features that will help create a festive and enjoyable atmosphere for your guests. Some popular features that I love within our portfolio of venues include: themed décor, festive decorations, fireplaces, firepits, DJs and dancefloors.

Q – How far in advance should you start looking for a Christmas party venue?

A – The ideal time to start looking for a Christmas party venue will vary depending on the size of your group, location, and date. I would always recommend starting to look around 6 – 12 months in advance for a key date at one of our venues!

Q – How important is the location of the Christmas party venue?

A – The location of the venue is often very important to clients and can be a key-deciding factor. I always check if our clients would like their venue to be close to any transport links or offices.

Q – What information should I take into consideration before looking for my Christmas party venue?

A – Before enquiring with venues, make sure you have identified your preferred date, location, guest numbers, and catering requirements. It is also important to think about whether you would like a theme, as this will help to narrow down your venue search.

Q – How can you ensure the venue you choose is the right size for your group?

A – To ensure the venue is the right size, make sure you have a clear understanding of the maximum numbers you will be inviting (including any plus-ones). Also think about the specific needs of your event. Will you need space for tables, a dance floor, a stage, or other setups?

Q – What entertainment you notice has been trending this year?

A – This year we have noticed an increase in the popularity for interactive entertainment. We offer beer tasting, karaoke, and cocktail masterclasses, which increase in popularity every year!

Q – You recently exhibited at the Christmas exhibition. What is your favourite part of planning or attending an exhibition? When approaching a client or agent for new business, do you have any good ice breakers or opening lines?

A – I love attending exhibitions to network with potential clients and showcase our services. I love to introduce myself and what we are about straightaway, I always think a genuine compliment is a great way to start a conversation.

Q – What is the most impressive thing you’ve seen at a Christmas Party?

A – I love when clients go all out with their theme; I have seen Winter Wonderland themed events, with fireworks, circus acts, and fairground rides.

Q – What should you do after booking a Christmas party venue to ensure a successful event?

A – Once you have booked your venue, I would recommend sending out your invitations as soon as possible. Once you have confirmed the numbers, you can choose catering, book your suppliers, and arrange decorations.

So, whether you are looking for event catering, themed entertainment, or some of London’s most stunning venues, let eve help you bring your ideas to life!
