Gray’s Inn Wedding Showcase

Engagement Party and Wedding Venue

Gray’s Inn Wedding Showcase

With it being my first ever showcase here at Gray’s Inn, I was super excited to take on this opportunity! Often working with brides and grooms to be, I get the chance to input my creative ideas – but of course the ultimate design, catering and supplier choices lay with the couple.. I love new, modern elements like Chiavari chairs, LOVE lights and draped linen, but in a historical venue it was only right to mix aspects of the two with the help of some amazing suppliers! Douglas Fry Wedding Photographer captured the day so well – I just had to write about it.

Venue Dressing

You can’t miss it, the oak panelling in Hall alludes warmth and tradition! With such richness, I decided to incorporate elements that softened the space but also complimented its class. I opted for floor length ‘buttermilk’ linen table cloths from Stalbridge Linen ServicesI just loved how these added height and elegance to the breakfast tables, teamed with gold Chiavari chairs from Event Hire UK. In our previous blog, I mentioned adding rich greens and soft pastels to your centre pieces whilst pairing these with modern gold, rose gold and silver. Like magic and right on trend our talented florists Samantha Davis Flowers and Wildwood London produced just this!

For minimal yet regal design, we used our classic multi and single stick candelabras plus real silverware too. AZO Print helped with adding hints of colour to the tables with use of their bespoke wedding menus, place cards and table numbers.

Food Glorious Food!

Of all things, we knew the food would surely be a hit! As a venue sat within the CH&CO Group – it was only right we showcased one of our greatest attributes, food!

To start we chose canapes followed by main course bowl food, all smaller refined versions of our Spring/Summer dining menu. From Smoked pork belly, apple jam with crispy sage to wild mushrooms, sweet garlic and crispy katifi – serving an array of dietary options was a must.

Among our recommended suppliers were other well-advised catering professionals supplying great cakes, great bubbly & great wine! Megan from Blossom and Crumb not only provided multiple cake displays, she gifted us samples of her zesty lemon drizzle for goody bags.

Bubbles on arrival from Ellis Wines and a selection of great worldwide wines to sip from Jascot Wines meant the offerings were plentiful.

Entertainment

For final added wedding necessities, came great entertainment! In Hall, the main space for our reception set up and supplier stalls, I wanted to create a relaxed ambience and tone. Nathan Hassall Music entertained with laid back vibes playing his Saxophone, as well as an acoustic guitarist for our ceremony room upstairs and DJ booth during downtime.

LOVE lights from 1 Entertainment elegantly highlighted historic features of the space like our stain-glassed windows and Winston Churchill bust.

Sticking with old traditions and new ideas our Toastmaster Barry Dorn showcased his wedding day services, whilst New Decade promoted use of their entertainment pieces – including photobooth, dancefloors and more!

With so much to offer and in such a beautiful space, we hope an enjoyable day was had by all. Another huge thank you to all suppliers, staff and couples who attended. If you were unfortunate not to be able to make it along – you can still see how best we can help dress up, fill up or entertain your wedding guests with details of all suppliers and our venue just one click away!
